Tifa Wine & Geetika Dance Company

Tifa Wine is a biracial Indo-Carribean drag artist committed to queer Carribean and QPOC activism through performance, co-organizing community panels, conversations, seminars, conferences and showcases focusing on social justice, Queer Toronto and Queer Carribeans in Canada, in addition to being a PhD student at University of Toronto. Centering the experiences, narratives and voices of queer Caribbean communities, she is a fiercely unapologetic Caribbean tanty, paying tribute and drawing upon the energies and spirit of fearless and transgressive Caribbean women who, for time, have been working to resist and dismantle the patriarchy all-the-while mashin it up on de road
Geetika Dance Company was founded in 1989 in Scarborough, formerly known as Tarana Dance School. With the creation of the separate Ajax location, it has turned what was once a small dance school into an ever-expanding, regional dance and entertainment company based on three simple core values: quality, class, innovation.
Geetika Dance Company staff have been trained and certified in Odissi, Bollywood, Modern, Ballroom, Hip-Hop, traditional yoga, aerial silks and hoop (acrobatic cirque).
The relationship between Tifa Wine & Geetika Dance Company began through mutual respect and admiration facilitated by social media!
